CHRISTIAN AID WEEK – 15-22 MAY 2022

This year, Christian Aid is raising our voices to call for climate justice.  Together, we can restore justice to our world.  If you want to donate direct to Christian Aid, then please click on the link below:

As from 24 February 2022, the Government have removed all remaining domestic restrictions in England, subject to parliamentary scrutiny. The legal requirement to self-isolate comes to an end as from 24 February but current government guidance advises anyone testing positive for Covid-19 to remain at home wherever possible for 5 days.  Adults and children who test positive will continue to be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.  After 5 days, they may choose to take a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) followed by another the next day — if both are negative, and they do not have a temperature, they can safely return to their normal routine."

Hand sanitiser will remain available and the church will continue to be cleaned down after services.  The side pews remain roped off for those who wish to maintain social distancing.

As from 27 January 2022, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face coverings in church. The government suggests and we would encourage people to continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with other people you do not normally meet   Singing is allowed.

Hand sanitiser remains available and we would ask people to continue social distancing in church with some pews remaining roped off.  The church will continue to be cleaned down after services.

Planning Application: 21/1720 – Field Adjacent the Duckery, Chapel Lane

You may (or may not) be aware of a recent planning application for the construction of a battery storage facility including 28 energy storage units which is intended to be on the site for around 40 years.  There is some confusion about the closing dates for comments but please send in your comments and we will update details as soon as we know.

If you want to know more details about the application, please click on the link below which will take you direct to Walsall Council’s Planning website and enter 21/1720 to access the reports:

As from 10 December 2021, new Government restrictions under “Plan B” mean it is now a legal requirement for people to wear face masks in church (unless a person has a legal exemption).  Singing is still allowed.

“Track & Trace” is still in operation here, either through the QR code poster or by people giving us their names and contact number.  Hand sanitiser is still available and we would remind people to continue social distancing in church with some pews remaining roped off.  The church will continue to be cleaned down after services.

With the increase in infections, if you wish to attend one of our services, please click here for information on what happens at our services - thank you.     If you prefer to worship at home, then please look at our "Situation during Covid" page to find postings from the Vicarage.

If you wish to attend the church for private prayer at another time, then please contact the Parish Office  on email or leave a voicemail on 0121 357 1390 to arrange so that somebody can let you in.

As from 19 July 2021, Government legal restrictions may have been lifted, but we would appreciate people continuing to wear face masks in church in order to reassure other people who are vulnerable or nervous.

Hand sanitiser will continue to be available and we will continue social distancing in church with some pews still roped off.  Any changes will be introduced slowly so that people know what is happening.  The church will continue to be cleaned down after any services.

The church is now hoping to catch up on Baptisms and other events that had to be postponed due to Covid.

Updates will be on the Coronovirus page of the website or you can contact the Parish Office  on email or leave a voicemail on 0121 357 1390.  As soon as these restrictions are lifted, we will update this page fully.

Donations to St Margaret's Church

There is now a new way to donate to St Margaret's Church using "Donate Now" set up by the Diocese of Lichfield to help their churches.  Their Finance Team, with help from a local software company, Data Developments, have put a Donate Now button on the Diocese website.

If you would like to make a donation to St Margaret’s Church, then click on the link to the Donate Now page, after you have clicked the button, you can enter your details and can choose St Margaret’s from the drop-down list of churches.

In addition, there is a Gift Aid option as well as an option for donors to cover the transaction cost if they want to.  As is the case with Contactless and Giving Direct, funds go into the Diocesan bank account as the registered charity and are then passed on to St Margaret’s as soon as possible along with a report showing when the donations were made.

Many Thanks

If you are looking for details on Worship at Home, the digital resources of the Church of England or a variety of prayers, then please see the "Coronovirus" Page for more details.
