St Margaret’s Church Welcomes
Revd Canon Ben Whitmore
St Margaret’s Church, Great Barr is delighted to announce the arrival of Revd Canon Ben Whitmore as its new minister.
Canon Ben will be formally licensed during a special service on Sunday 26th April at 5:00pm. This important occasion marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the life of our church, and we warmly invite all members of the community to join us in celebrating.
The licensing service will be a joyful and meaningful event, offering an opportunity to gather in worship, give thanks, and look forward to the future under Canon Ben’s leadership. Following the service, there will be a chance to meet Canon Ben and extend a personal welcome.
Whether you are a regular member of the congregation, a friend of the church, or simply curious to come along, you will be most welcome.
We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you.
SAMARITANS PURSE SHOEBOX APPEAL
10-17 NOVEMBER 2025
St Margaret's Church will be acting as a "Drop Off" point again for this year's appeal. As the Parish Office is currently closed, shoeboxes can be brought to church during service times - 11.00 - 12.30 pm on Sundays, then 10.15 - 12.00 noon on Thursday.
At the end of the week, all the donated shoeboxes will be collected by Samaritans Purse for distribution.
Children @ Church
Although St Margaret's were hoping to restart Children @ Church services in September 2025, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have been unable to find someone to cover these services on a regular basis. Sadly, this means the Children @ Church services will not be taking place for the foreseeable future.
As soon as the church has found cover, the details of proposed services will be put on the Children @ Church page.
We are so sorry to disappoint those who enjoy attending and hope they will bear with us.
