Baptisms and Christenings
29.6.20 - we are still waiting for Church of England guidance on when baptisms can take place and the number of people allowed to attend. As soon as we know more, we will update our website.
Baptisms are usually held on the last Sunday of each month around 3.30 pm.
To be baptised at St Margaret's Church, you have to either live in the parish or have a strong connection to the church. To check on whether you actually live in the Parish, click here to see a map of the parish
ADULT BAPTISM OR CONFIRMATION?
The Vicar would like to get a group together as soon as possible and starting before the end of February.
If anyone is thinking about being baptised as an adult, then the preparation is basically the same as for those wishing to be confirmed. So if you want to be involved, or would like to know more about what is involved, then please speak to the Vicar and he can then arrange a series of meetings.
Confirmation is the time when as an adult we can affirm our faith saying “Yes I do believe this”. The Bishop then prayers for each candidate with the laying on of hands. This is usually the time people start taking the bread and wine of Communion.
Please let me know if you are interested.
