Organist and Choir Director

Required as soon as possible

     St Margaret’s Church, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 7BA

Diocese of Lichfield

• Busy suburban parish church in a country setting;
• Two services each Sunday plus weekly choir practices;
• Prayer Book Communion, Matins or modern service each Sunday morning plus Choral Evensong;
• Many weddings and funerals;
• Recently restored 2 manual organ;
• Enthusiastic, mixed 4 part Choir, RSCM affiliated;
• Affiliated church Primary school.

This represents an excellent opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic musician who will develop the music of the Church, building on its traditions whilst aiming for diversity.

However, the Church is willing to consider a more flexible arrangement with the role being shared between two people and will be happy to discuss the possibilities with anyone, including a student or person without experience, who might be interested in undertaking part of the responsibilities.

Salary by negotiation based on RSCM rates plus fees.
